I was having breakfast with 3 friends the other day. I mentioned that the wife and I had just celebrated our 30th anniversary. A few minutes of conversation later, I found out that I had been married to the same wife for LESS time than anyone else at the table had been married to their wife. The way things are today, I don't figure that will happen too many more times to me...... Just rambling..... Thanks...... :o

My wife and I also recently passed the 30 year mark.

We couldn't celebrate this since she is in California taking care of her mother.

Congrats Robert! In today's world 30 years with the same spouse is a long time. You are a lucky man.

I remember 30 years. Tried to buy a 30 year Hallmark card for my Wife. There were none. Same thing for 40. Wrote them an e-mail, and now I see cards for 30-40-50-etc. Gotta wait 6 more years to get one for 50. Just did 44 last week.
Congrats to you both.

Congrats Robert.

I know how hard it was for me to find someone to put up with my quirks. Found her in 1980 and haven't looked back.

Congratulation on your long marriages...all of you. I was amazed last fall to realize that it had been 30 years for us.

I could say the same thing (with a different date), but it's because I'm too busy looking in the direction I'm running ;)

Congrats, Robert,

47 for us in April. Just went to a 50th anniversary party for one of my wife's best friends. It was interesting that 3 of her bridesmaids (including my wife) were there, and they had been in each others weddings, and were all married over 45 years. Around Easter we have to go back East to Virginia for the next one's 50th. My rich buddy (on this site) has also been married about 45 years.

I need to meet some younger people.

Congrats ! I married my high school sweetheart and we are working on 44 years. The year she turned 40 was our 20th year married so I had a special diamond and ruby ring made for a 20/40 gift. Told her if another combo like that occurred I would buy another ring. :)

I can't help but post. Those of you that have read my bio know what I do for a "real" job. In the course of that work recently, we were in the process of choosing 12 fine people like yourselves to decide a dispute that could be resolved no other way.

At a point in the process, the folks "in the box" give a mini-bio including marital status.

I'm not making this up. I wish I was this funny on my own.

A gentleman, probably around 65, who'd been pretty funny up to this point, answered as follows:

"Married. Loooong time. 40 years. FIVE of the happiest years of my life!" to this, the men erupted in laughter; many glares that kill from the ladies.

Apparently a different perspective than many of y'all. Glad to hear your experiences have been better - or at least you're not admitting otherwise!;)

Congratulations to you and Diana, Robert. Too many people today think they are fishing and use the "catch and release" system.
