Ok, guys we are getting serious now. Today I received one of the prizes for the upcoming IndyFest Hand Plane Competition. As a reminder Ray Thompson is hosting the gathering the last weekend in April. IndyFest will have demos, lots of food, and lots of shop talk. Ray hosted the End-O-Pond celebration two years ago after the Badger Pond woodworking forum disbanded.
Anyway, back to the good stuff. Rob Lee of Lee Valley and Veritas generously donated a beautiful Large Shoulder Plane as a prize for the competition. This plane is stunning, and will only have 6 weeks use in my shop :) Seriously I cannot thank Rob and the other companies for donating these wonderful prizes.

We are have commitments for a low angle iron block plane with leather hostler from Lie-Nielsen, and a Knight Toolworks wood bodied smoothing plane. So get sharpening and bring your best plane April 30th.
More details to follow.
Rob, thanks again – John
