About 7" by 3" this is a piece of walnut knot that's been laying around. It had a misguided chainsaw cut in the bottom and lots of cracks. One side is a big thin chunk of bark. Couldn't believe it stayed together. It's finished with Doctors Woodshop walnut oil and wax (we got samples given to us at our club meeting yesterday).
C&C welcomed.

Looks pretty cool Josh! Would have loved larger photos.... Looks like you did good just keeping it together!

I see someone else is cursed with the inability to see firewood as firewood!:D
Neat form with a lot of natural character! I might have been tempted to fill or pyro those cracks, but it's nice looking as is.

Josh- I really like how you incorporated the split pith as a design element in the shoulder. COOL!!!

Josh that is a neat piece. That wood has a lot going on and nice form.

That is one hideous piece of wood! The fact that it was transformed into a hollow vessel with clean lines and appealing profile makes it wonderful! How strange is that?

I call my salvaged pieces "value added firewood!" If you can't turn it, you can burn it!
