spiral bowl from a board???

I am still on my kick of trying to give the lowly" bowl from a board "a jump start to respectability! :cool:


I think I may have made the first ever through spiral bowl from a board. I have never seen it done before. (I did make a through flute bowl from a board hollowform awhile back)
This was quite a challenge to sand & finish.as the top has unsupported sharp points. FUN:D Very cool to watch spin too!

Michelle, this one is neat!! I absolutely cannot see the seams from the glue up - looks like you achieved perfect grain orientation.

You really made a critical error in posting the earlier piece that reflected your state of mind at one point. Now, every time I see one of your pieces, there is always that query - "Where is Michelle's mind today??? What unique and yet somewhat bizarre concept has been conceived??" I must admit, this one really got me wondering - were you suffering from a bout of vertigo??:D Or, is this a reflection of your true thoughts on the vortex??;) Just wonderin'.......
