Ok, this is a slight modification of the piece that I did from acacia wood our wood fairy sent me late in December. http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?179597-The-Wood-Fairy-cometh! (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?179597-The-Wood-Fairy-cometh%21)

I had a little booboo around the rim though it didn't show up in pics originally posted, but up close, it was like a sore thumb. I pyro textured the collar area completely eliminating it, and then added a walnut finial, which I think works much better than the original pink ivory finial I used.

Comments welcome, and thank you again Kathy. I'm eager to get to the mesquite or sissoo soon!

The color is a better match but I still think it looks great unadorned!

I like this finial much better with the sissoo, but then I've already fessed up to not being a pink ivory fan! I'd consider carrying that pyro up onto the top of the opening. As Baxter suggested, I might just leave it without the finial, too! You've been busy, Tim!

Well balanced and looks very good with and without the finial.

It still looks good to me! I like this finial better, but the form is so nice I think it could go either way, with or without the finial. I also like the texturing around the rim.
Patiently waiting to see what the sissoo and mesquite become, knowing full well that once you turn the sissoo you'll be hooked for life!

I think that it looks a little top-heavy with the finial, but looks just right without the finial.
