Jet 1642 just arrived got it in pieces in the basement now. Pics to come and hopefully be turning this time tomorrow(stupid work)!

Woo Hoo!! Gratz Brian! I really think the 1642 is under-rated. Weighted down and balanced, it's hard to beat for the price. I'm still adjusting to the abilities of mine and haven't even chipped the paint (for JK). Enjoy!!

Congratulations Brian.............I hope you gain a lot of happiness and skills using the Jet 1642...........now go shopping for all the accessories...........new chucks, vac system, tool rests, etc.............:D;)

Congrats! I've never turned on one, but I drooled on one at a Woodcraft store... If yours has a rusted spot on the ways, it could be the same lathe!

You've had plenty of time to put it together so where is the pics??????????????????????? Mine was running after about 2 hrs of being home. I had the whole family helping put it together. Quit hiding it and lets see.......

Now there's a dedicated creeker. Post before he put his lathe together...... I certainly could not wait to plug it in....... Then post.

C'mon Brian you know the rules, no pics didn't happen! He is probably dancing around the shop, grinning from ear to ear, covered in shavings and has completely forgotten about us and our pictures. Oh well congrats anyway, it is a great lathe.

Here ya guys go all set up and ready to go. Got mandated at work yesterday never fails! So out side to cut some black walnut, cherry and ash blanks and turn turn turn!
