A new hand tool user practicing his skill with a coping saw on a Pinewood Derby car. He's not big on the sanding, but no problem jumping in to do the sawing.

Great picture of a soon-to-be full-fledged Neanderthal!! :D

Awsome.

My eight year old wanted his in red. We've got the second coat of Plasti-Dip (http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip) drying now.
FYI - take a little out of the can, first. The body displaces a lot more than I guessed.

My boy is keen on the shaping and chiseling (for lead tapcon anchors on the bottom), not so much for the sanding.

I remember doing this with my Dad - lots more bandaids were involved, then.

That Plastidip is good stuff and looks cool but be sure you supervise carefully, in a well ventilated area and keep 'em from contact with the stuff. As you will see from the attached MSDS, about 75% of the dip is a combination of: VM&P Naptha, Hexane, Tolulene and Methyl Ethyl Ketone and is flammable (Flash Point: -10*F) with a low Lower Explosive Limit (0.9%).

All that said, used with care in a ventilated area, it's pretty neat stuff! :)
