I got one for Christmas with the stand and chuck and I love it. I am new to turning so I really don't know enough to make and valid complaints :)

Hi, Dwayne:
The 46-700 was the lathe I started out with and used for ~12 years. It had several features that I liked but they were outweighed by the poor design of the reeves drive variable speed mechanism. I had to re-build that mechanism about every three years while I had the lathe and the required parts were back-ordered for several weeks the last time. Since that last time was about 10 years ago now, the parts may not be available at all anymore.
