I have a very dull 20 tooth per inch dovetail saw that my local sharpening man says he can't handle because of the fine teeth. I'm looking for recommendations for a sharpening service, preferably, but not necessarily, in the vicinity of Upstate New York.

Thanks,

Bob

by far, the hand saw sharpening guru is Tom Law. I sent him 3 pre-1900 Disstons, and they came back perfect. Now they cut like my Lie-Neilsons.
Your other option is to do it yourself. Tom Law also has a sharpening video (I haven't seen it, but heard it's good), and files are cheap. I can't say that I've done this yet, but probably will next time I need a sharpening (the 3 I sent him were in pretty bad shape).

Give him a call...He's good, quick, and inexpensive. How many times do you find that combination?
