Does anyone know any thing about these Dadoes?

I don't know anything about this brand of dado. But I would wonder about the cut quality, since they are only 12-tooth outer blades and double ended chippers. Higher quality dado sets with more teeth can frequently be found on sale for not much more money.

Hi, the number of teeth on the saw blades is too low, however the number of hogging teeth is fine.

I have the FS Tools 53DL06 and it cuts perfect grooves.

I've attached a copy of the page from Fs Tools...............Rod.

Rod - I like that 1/4" chipper - never seen that before. I have two Systematic 8" FINE dado setups. When these get sharpened beyond resharpening in another 10 years or so, and I don't feel like like having all new teeth brazed back on... I might just look into one of those!

It's Peachtree's in house brand. (Fulton is a county in Georgia, home of the Braves.) I would pass, and instead go by the post office and get a moving kit (Lowes 10% off coupon inside.) Then go to Lowes and look at the CMT they sell for about $90

I have seen other brands of 8" dado sets with 12 blades. If the tooth count is too low, why do they sell them with only 12 teeth?

12 is probably good enough for MDF and solid wood. For today's micro-thin veneers though, it's not enough unless you pre-score or upcut (and I've upcut before, and it's not fun).

I just looked and my Systematic, and it has 22 teeth.

Doesn't look like much of a set to me. In that general price range, I can't help but wonder if you'd be better off with an Oshlun set. Too bad no Onsrud sets are available.

To reach a price point, just like why does HF sell a angle grinder you can get for $8 with a coupon.

Thanks for the replies guys. That's kinda what I figured.
Is anyone familiar with this Delta? http://www.amazon.com/DELTA-35-7670-8-Inch-Stacked-Dado/dp/B000O7YJAQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_T1?ie=UTF8&coliid=I19NCG5B4O5BCJ&colid=2PWZFFVP8AOQY

or should I just keep saving my pennies for something like a Dadonator.

Harbor Freight can sell a grinder for $8 because they know its doubtful you leave the store with only a grinder. As for the 8" 12 tooth dado blades, I think I remember seeing a Freud 8" dado with 12 teeth at Lowe's. The low tooth count stuck with me.

The Delta/DeWalt 7670 is a darn nice set at that price point IMO...it's cheaper on Ebay (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Delta-35-7670-8-Inch-Stacked-Dado-Set-/390378325187?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5ae45c84c3).

The Dadonator is outstanding. It's an excellent value compared to other top shelf sets like the Forrest, Freud 508, Ridge Carbide, but does cost a bit more than the 7670. Executive decision time about how good a set you want.

I think I remember seeing a Freud 8" dado with 12 teeth at Lowe's. The low tooth count stuck with me.You are talking about the Freud SD 208, or the CMT clone (different color.) I have the Freud, along with a Forest Dado King, Freud Safety Dado, and Freud adjustable. The SD 208 gets the most use.

Mine also gets the most use, I save my Forrest for when cuts are critical. Curious what is your reasoning.

I have the Freud SD 508 Super Dado. It's really nice. Highly recommend it.

I have the same set, branded, Dewalt. It's a great set! For $90 it can't be beat.
I would buy another, if I needed a new set.
