I am looking a getting a new face shield. Based on earlier discussions this Uvex appears to be a very popular one.

But In the previous discussions I noticed that some recommend the peel off overlays. Yet I have been unable to find them anywhere. Where are you guys getting them??

Thanks

I grabbed a 10pk on ebay for my Trend...they may interchange...or not.

Good question. I just got my Uvex. Nice upgrade to my old Stanley. Seems really comfortable. I think peel offs would be nice to have.

Rick,

Uvex sells the replacement visor for the unit..........Steve Schlumpf mentioned in an earlier thread about getting some clear plastic sheet covers from walmart and using a double stick tape to secure it to the sheild. You can cut them to shape and size as you wish. Both should be available where they have office supplies, etc.

The Sanding Glove carries an after-market overlay for the Uvex that they, apparently, have made. Uvex, proper, does not have any such overlay. Have not tried it yet, but I should, since I am constantly flinging lacquer and glue onto my expensive shield. I did clean the gunk off of my shield with acetone, against all advice, once and it does not seem to have diminished its anti-fog coating. I don't know what repeated cleanings would do, though. Anyone tried these overlays?

I think I'll be ordering some in the next week or two and will let everyone know how they work.

I bought a bunch of replacement shields for mine and they were cheap enough that I consider them disposable.
