I just got a DeWalt 618 plunge router and want to know if I can use my Whiteside 23/32 straight bit for cutting some stopped dados. I've used my other fixed base router, but am new to using a plunge router. Thanks.

Sure. That router has plenty of power to do the job. Unless you're going to plunge it into the dado, you use it just like your fixed base unit. If you do plan to plunge, just make sure that you set the depth stop at your desired depth, then go for it. Some practice cuts can't hurt.

Agreed, you can use it for pretty much anything where you used your fixed base router. I've got an Hitachi Kit with both bases. My fixed base stays mounted to the router table cast iron wing on my table saw and I use the plunge base for all the hand held work, fixed or plunge.

Just as an aside, a plunge router with a 9/32" straight bit, a template guide and a home made jig is fantastic for "drilling" shelf pin holes for brass sleeves, or just use 1/4" for is you don't use sleeves.
