Pretty neat! I did a lidded vase in a similar style a while back from mesquite - I kind of like this form. Madrone has a reputation for being unstable - did you find this piece to have any movement?

The wood had been boiled. I believe that it was finished this past Tuesday. Good so far. We will see what it does. If anything bad I will let you know. The desigh just came out of my head as I turned. Welcome to base your versions upon it.

Wow!! Nice job of lining up the grain Allen! A little thinner on the knob might be more or less artistic...or not! It will be fun to see how it moves!
