How does everyone store their shaper cutters and other shaper parts (spindles, wrenches, etc)? Seems like everything comes in more or less permanent box. I'm thinking a drawer or two but not sure where they are are going to end up going.

Edit: Oops--should have searched first. See this thread: http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?176352-Shaper-Cutter-Storage-Ideas

My Dad made a box in the stand for the shaper he had that is now in my shop. When you open the doors there are plywood trays that slide out of dado slots. Each tray has a number of dowels sticking up with the cutter sitting over the dowels. The spacing of the dowels is such that the cutting edges can't touch. Similar function bits are located on a single tray.

Matt, new avator! I was just "trying" to be a funny guy ya know.

Anyways, I had an extra side chest for a toolbox that I use for my shaper cutters. It has 7 drawers, + it does not take up much space as its pretty narrow 18" wide? I made a mobile base for it with 4 swivel castors, moves around very nicely. I use the top drawer for scoring and dado blades, the lower 5 hold my shaper cutters, the bottom (which is the deepest) houses my extra shaper spindles.

Very similar to this one

I went out at lunch time and reorganized some drawers and found basically 2 full drawers in a rollaround chest I have located under my TS Extension table (with the wheels removed it just fits.) I could find more if I got rid of my never-used triangular sander and found a new home for my rarely used Dremel. I didn't think the drawers were deep enough, but they just clear the tallest box.

Jeff, I like that cabinet a lot--I wish I could get it to go with my existing roller chest but alas my bottom chest isn't tall enough. And I was thinking it was time to change my avatar anyway--the old one was a photo taken at my old work and I haven't worked there in almost 5 years. I'm pretty sure it was taken when I went back there after leaving for a year so that would be about 10 years ago.
