Here is a small cherry bowl I turned a few months ago from some cherry crotch. The bowl is about 3 inches in diameter by 2.5 in high. It was one of the first bowls I turned. The wood was “found”.

Nice little bowl, John. I love turning Cherry!:) So, did you turn it from "green" or was it dry? Also, how about a little detail on finishing? Anyhow, good job!:)

Looks good John,

Isn't this fun?? I just posted my first bowl last week and it was a real fun piece to make. Right now, I have roughed out the outside of an 8" Purple Poplar bowl. Thanks for sharing and keep on turning!

Nice bowl John. I recently had a friend give me some "found" cherry wood. I hope to turn it into something useful someday.

Thanks for all the nice comments. The wood was green when I turned the bowl. The finish is 2 coats of hut crystal coat.
