Hi Guys,

I've noticed in the last few months that I have different cutting results in different areas of my laser bed. For example, when I cut some wood, everything about 3" from the left side cuts all the way through, but anything within the 3" doesn't cut all the way through? What would cause this? Shouldn't the power be equal all around the bed?

Thanks,
Joseph

There could be several reasons for this but the one I find most often is wood that is slight warped or not truly flat thus the laser will not be in focus in certain areas.

The table may need adjustment for level or your machine may need aligning (tube, mirrors and lens)

In addition to warped material, the same can be from a sagging honeycomb grid. Put a metal ruler against it and see if it's still flat.

Given the way the ULS honeycomb cutting table is constructed, I sorta doubt it's sagging.
