What container do you use to mix and store your dyes. Does storage matter if the dye is water based or not. Typically, mine are not. Is glass better than plastic?

I use alcohol based dyes and I use those little mason jelly jars from wally world. They seal nice and store the dye well. Can't tell you about water based. I don't like them as they raise the grain to much for me.

I use water base dye and I store then is whatever container I have. Currently I have 8 colors mixed and stored in pill bottles, another 5 colors stored in glass olive jars, with 10 other colors in 2 oz plastic jars. The life expectancy of the mixed dye I use is 6 months which I usually stretch to a year. For dye that I mix in small batches (capful size) I use a small stainless steel condiment cup.

I use water-based dyes and store them in glass jars. But don't leave them in your unheated garage during the winter, in the Northeast. Made that mistake last year. What a mess.
