Trouble vector cutting text

I have some single line text that I want to vector cut, so it almost looks like printing. Sometimes when I try it, I get something about closed poly lines. Then the laser starts going tracing over the text, but the laser is not firing. I have 300 for the speed and 45 for the power. I even tried 75 for the power.

Thanks for looking this over. I am sure someone here has run across this somewhere.

When I bring Auto Cad files into Corel, the text always appears as poly lines. I haven't figured out how to convert them to font/text so I delete them & type them in again. Good luck!

I wasn't sure what format to use, or how to upload a cdr or dxf file. I was able to do a bmp/jpg.
