Mom's X-mas present

My son wanted to make something for his mom this Christmas and this was what he made with a bit of help from me. We picked out a burled piece of purple heart I cut out of the last plank I bought for making turkey calls and had just got some new kits in from Craft Supply like one of the pens Jim Burr's sent as a gift with the blanks for my students. It is finished with CA. My son is looking forward to giving it to his Mom. The picture doesn't show the burly grain of this wood very well.
