I'm mostly neander, but I've got a DR Contractor Saw, model 34-653, which I use very occasionally. Two things:
First, any sugggestions of where I might track down a splitter assembly (blade guard and bracket) for this without spending an arm and a leg? Most parts vendors do not even list this assembly as out of stock. The plastic guard runs $60-$70, which is three times more than the saw cost me. The mounting system does not seem compatible with after-markets.
Second,
I need a hex wrench to hold the arbor while changing blades. The manual specifies 5/16", but this is too big. 1/4" is too small. Should I be looking perhaps at a metric size? I'll probably just grind down a 5/16".
