I've been looking for a big beefy 20" DP for a variety of uses. I had been looking for a used Clausing or PM1200. I know this is not a PM1200, but was wondering if any of you have used or have any feedback on the Jet. Since it's a metal working tool rather than a woodworking tool, my assumption is that it will be better made to tighter tolerances, but I don't know if the Jet metal working tools are well made or not.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks.

I have used one of the Jet metal working DPs but I can't which one it was. Although it wasn't and Ellis or Clausing it was a solid DP and certainly would be a great wood working press. Now if you plan to do metal work you will have to get other's opinions as I as not qualified to comment.

Thanks Van.

Nobody else has used a Jet JDP-20VS DP? They can't be that new. They're probably not as good as PM1200s, but I'm hoping they're in the ballpark?

Bueller... Anyone...

The Hawley-Smoot Tarriff? Anyone?
