I need to replace the spiral type knives in my Oliver 4240. I've just sent a frustrating hour on the net and not been able to find an outfit that sells them. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Have you tried Oliver? 1-800-559-5065

How long have you had the 10" jointer and how do you like it?

This is where we bought them.

A little pricey, but he has parts and knives, and inserts.
I am not affiliated in any way

thanks for the suggestions guys. I have had the machine for ~ 2 years. I had to replace the mag switch in the first 2 months (made in China). Other than that it is a pleasure to use. The knives dull quickly however. the last 2 sets i bought were from sunhill machinery and it appears they are no more. I gladly pay more for a better quality knife, one preferable made in north America. Changing them is a pain. I think i'm going to save up my empties and eventually go to the byrd helical cutter head for the jointer and planer.

Thanks again. i'm off to start creating the empties

Sunhill is the company that bought the Oliver name and makes the machines. Have they gone out of business? Dave

I think Sunhill went out of business when the owner died. I am not 100% sure about their connection with the "new" Oliver but I think Oliver is now owned by a pacific rim company.
