Guitars Made in USA, of Aluminum, by a friend

Hi, I'm usually posting in the Neanderthal Haven, but for a while I've wanted to share pics of some finely made aluminum guitars by a small maker, who happens to be a good friend of mine. In addition to being a talented mechanical and product designer working in metals, and a gifted musician, he is above all a decent, principled and hard working guy.

Aluminum guitars are not for everyone (especially when presented on a forum of woodworkers!) but I have always admired the art and craft that goes into creating them and I thought some of you would as well.

Wow!

As a fairly accomplished fabricator having built off road race chassis that have won a world championship I have to say that that is a thing of beauty! That is taking metal working to a whole new level. Thats art. I don't play and I wouldn't mind having one of those hanging on my wall.

Your friend is a talented metal worker to be sure, awesome.

I agree, since I have seen firsthand how much work goes into them. Depending on customization, they can run much higher than the stated prices, it all depends on the customer.

For me, I see a rebirth of craft and small scale manufacturing in this country, and it gives me hope for my son's generation.

Those instruments are stunning. The price is very reasonable. I'm more of a strat and tele guy, but that Les Paul is pretty impressive. Beautiful craftsmanship.

Hi, I just found this on the site next to the Classic Alloy T6 Superchrome:
"The options for this instrument are extensive. Including the option of custom internal resonance chambers made from your choice of Aluminum, Ash, Mahogany or Basswood. These chambers are custom options that allow for preferred tone variations or for backing up higher output pickups"
