This is one of the pieces that John Keeton gave me when I came to visit. It's a Black Walnut burl. About 6" diam. x 10" tall. John, I hope you like what I did with it. C&C Welcome.

Most definitely Keetonesque! That one is a standout for sure Ed! Nice wood, and you have done a nice job with the form....the finial is certainly Drozda/Keeton in style and the pedestal base is really nice............the proportions in height relating to the pedestal and finial seem to be nearing equal size..........maybe an illusion of the angle of photography........

Superb! Move over John...........your protoge' is gaining on you! ;):D

Wonderful job Ed. I really like the proportions on this one. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the bottom of the pedestal. It seems to be almost fighting for attention with the HF itself, but that's just me.

That is a great piece, it has everything; artistic design, workmanship, fine wood and a great finish.

Beautiful piece ED. I've found that I don't care for 2/3 of the elevated hf's I've seen and don't like any I have done. The proportions need to be spot on to be beautiful. Haven't got those figured out yet but it looks like you do! Really nice.

Works for me, Ed!! That sure looks different than that gnarly old chunk of wood I gave you! I would say you should be proud of this one, and you got the dimensions a bit smaller than your previous pieces, too.

Beautiful! This is my favorite of the pieces you've shared with us... It's got a certain masculine quality that I like. My only tiny nit to pick would be the transition from form to finial base/lid... I generally prefer a smooth transition. Even if the lid is intended to sit proud, I think it flows better if the curve doesn't change at the lid/form junction. Either JK is really generous, or he didn't figure that piece of wood was going to be so pretty in it's finished state!

Wow...I have no hope. This is great Ed...I love the foot...mixed up the wood, nice. The HF itself is a bit glossy for me, but I'm dull and that's how I like it! Finial is great...lot's of delicacy (did I use that word?) to be seen. Put it on the wall!!!
