I made one of these long necklace caddies for my wife several months ago and got requests from several of my daughters, daughter-in-law and granddaughter-in-law for Christmas gifts. These are all cherry finished in CA/BLO again , getting hung up using this fast finish. They are about 22" tall, base is about 5" dia and top is about 4". I used a ball bearing in each one so they turn freely for easy access to the one they are looking for. 24 hooks on each so there was 120 holes to drill and 120 hooks to screw in. I enjoyed making them but glad to be finished with them.

Missed these yesterday, man you have been busy turning and then turning in all those screw eyes. Very nice I'm sure they will all love them. Did you make anything for the guys?

And you didn't turn little pegs instead of the hooks? They look great and that many of the same thing can get tiresome indeed.

Beautiful work Sid! What plating is on the hooks...I did one a few years ago for my wife and used brass pegs. Some of her chains oxidized...my bad.

Thanks for the comments. Harry the pepper mills I posted earlier will be for the guys. Jim I have used the brass hooks for years for different types of necklace holders and never had any problems with them. Hope my luck don't change with these. ;)

They're gonna be really pleased with them, you did a nice job with a lot of turning, drilling, and screwing. You definitely need a break after that! You need turn a bowl or something like that...only got one hole in that!

Very nice Sid. Great idea on the ball bearing. Can you describe how you did that?

Mike here is where I got my bearings and the ones I used.

I just drilled a 7/8" hole in the top for the bearing and drilled a 5/16" hole in the shaft for a 5/16 split pin and pressed the bearing on the pin then pressed the pin in the shaft leaving about 1/8" space. Glued the bearing in the top.

Very nice Sid. The concave area on the base looks like a good place to put some earrings. I'm sure these will be cherished gifts.
