Hi everyone, I subscribe to the scrollsaw workshop free plan email and this came across the wire a few weeks ago. I modified it a little and added more animals to the set. Everything fits neatly into the stable as a box. Enjoy. I personally like this out of 1/8 masonite, the pictures are of 1/8 BB but 1/4 BB would probably work a little better to help the items stand up. With masonite they stand up well in either 1/8 or 3/16 which I can buy at Lowes for $7-$11 for a 4x8 sheet. To assemble, there are 4 big pieces that are glued together to make the sides of the box. There is a smaller one that is glued to the top of the box to hold it in place. First press fit the inner liner into a bigger side wall piece 1/2 way. glue the small inner liner to the top and use the outer piece to help line it up (let dry completely). Glue the outer liner pieces together with the bottom of the box piece. Glue the two stars together. When fitting in the box, put the star in first and pack as many pieces in each level as possible. The top layer should only have 3 pieces in it. put them toward the middle so the inner liner piece can fit in and hold the top in place.

2.5in is the lens I used. The "box"/stable is made from multiple layers glued together.

Rich, Did the figures stand up okay using 1/4" lite ply?
