Here is a cedar bowl I just finished up its 8 1/4" X 2 3/4" buffed on the Beall.
Its a Gift to my Grandmother she has had a cedar Bedroom suite for many years, and I thought this would go great with it.

Jim,

I really like the sap wood that shows on the bottom of the peice. Cedar is a really neat wood!

Thanks for the Nice comments:)

Yep Steve, Im an alky abuser:D soaked it for 24 hours let it dry for 2 1/2 weeks. Im glad Dave Smith lets us in on his methods! This is the only method I have used so far and I love it Im too impatient to wait for months to finish one;)

BINGO!!! you nailed that one, perfect shape. It wouldn't be my first choice for timber but I can't say any thing bad about it.

Grandmothers will always say they love "whatever" you give them, but I have a feeling she is going to not only love it but be proud of it.
I've got to try that alky stuff. I get impatient too.
good job all around.

Jim, great looking piece there! It's a winner in my book! Also, thanks much for re-affirming the argument for using the alky method. I haven't tried it yet, but it looks to be a winner, as well! Thanks for posting the pics and info. Nice job, my friend!:)
