I had the pleasure of visiting John and Eileen Keeton last Saturday/Sunday. I posted the piece that he turned after I got back. Well, this week I finished that piece and did another all on my own. Here are a couple of pictures. The one John turned is on the right. C&C welcome.

Nice Ed! nothing like private tutoring from an expert! Nice work...........of course your skills were already shining pretty brightly before you ever made that trip to Winchester! Jk must have given up a couple of secrets for sure..........those walnut rings are just nice and that is some pretty wood!

Ed, you did great!! Actually, I think yours is much better than the form we finished up at my place. Having the opportunity to actually choose where to place the walnut collar sure makes a difference! Your form has a good lift to it. Nice work on the pedestals and finials on both.

Again, we enjoyed your visit, and I appreciate the opportunity to show you how NOT to use the Monster rig!:o

Nice job on the HF Ed. Hope ya have many more adventures...

Nice work by both of you! I'm wondering if the finish is different between the two pieces? The one on the left has a lovely amber hue which I really like, so I'm wondering if it's the wood or a difference in the finishing technique.

They both look awfully well done to my eyes! ED, Mrs. Keeton's husband seems to be a pretty nice guy so feel free to give him any pointers you may have stored away. :):)

Love the BLM and the forms. I especially like the round one with the great finial - no doubt the best of the pair.

Those both look great Ed. I would not wanted to have to guess which one JK turned. It looks like you got his "interior parting" technique down too!
