About a month ago I posted a guide I use for measuring a tenor for roughing out. Finally got the rough out finish turned, and added a walnut lid with a betel nut knob. The bowl is about 41/4 inch diameter and 2 3/4 inches tall without the lid. Thickness is about 3/16". Finish is EEE and a couple coats of Shellawax. Pardon the photos, still learning:o.

Tom- that's a fine looking pot job, and the betel nut is the perfect accent to match the spalting. The photos are OK, but I suggest that you lower the camera position for a better view of the profile. Position it so that just a bit of the interior of a bowl form would be visable, and its about those wrinkles in your backdrop........;):D

Tom, very nice work!! I like the groove at the top to accent the rim and lid. Great wood, too!

Nicely done, Tom! The knob on top is a great touch, and it doesn't hurt that you started with a fantastic piece of maple!

Those spalt lines are great. Sometimes spalted wood goes over the edge for me; not this one. Love the acorn effect!!!

Very nice pot. I love black spalt lines running through wood.

Nice Tom, very nice. I like turning the betel nuts, the finish from a sharp tool will make you not want to put anything coarser than about 600 grit to it.
I have a couple...would make a cool challenge piece to hollow one out.
As said, excellent combination to the spalted wood.
