I just finished these three cherry burl bowls over the last week. All are coated with WOP, buffed with tripoli and reniesance wax.

First is an 8.75" dia x 3" deep x 0.25 wall thickness.

Second is a 9.375" dia x 3" deep x 0.25 wall thickness.

Nice figure in the grain on those Rich..........nice finish also! I like your cherry burl better than that HF I did recently with all the bark inclusions and voids..............

Nice work on both bowls Rich! I really like the grain pattern in the second bowl! Also like how you slanted and softened the rims!

Hope you've been getting in some turning time!! If you get a break from work over the holidays - and are up in this part of the woods - stop in - we'll turn something!

You gotta love cherry burl! I like the proportions of that third one the best with the bottom being a bit smaller relative to the overall diameter. The burls are gorgeous, and I really like the way that stuff smells too!

Neat stuff Rich. It always seems like every burl bowl is different!

Thanks. I really like turning burls because of the consistent density. Also, it is like Forest Gump said "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get." The same is true with burls.

Really nice bowls. I do like the second one. Really wild grain pattern.
