Black Locust Box with Dick Sing style insert. Spalted Dogwood, spalted Pecan, and Wenge inserts. Ribs courtesy of an "inspiration" I had after I was almost finished.

An Elm box with a Cherry Rosette insert. The rosette was lifted from Wayne Barton's chip carving book. I drew the rosette in ArtCAM. Then it was v-carved with a CNC router, then inserted and glazed. And if you say that's cheating, it's only because you don't have access to a $120K CNC router.:D

Ha!! Cheater;):D!! And you're right...no 120k CNC...but I want one!
Those are very nice boxes and the inserts are great! Having been the benefactor of "inspiration";) on a regular basis, you made a nice recovery!

Those are really nice boxes, Jim...........the inlays are pretty and I like the form on them as well............I really like the chip-carved one.........that lid just sets off a very nice form. Nice work!

Neat boxes even without the wonderful inlays! The little 'extra' details inside the lid and on the bottom are a very nice touch!

Very classy little boxes Jim. Amazing how much detail can fit into a small space!

These are really neat, Jim! I love the second one with the rosette.
And if you say that's cheating, it's only because you don't have access to a $120K CNC router.:DNow, that is just not fair!!!!:D

Very unique, and even with the 120k router, much skill on your part.
