This bowl is from a crotch section of some Beech I picked up this summer. I was a little worried as to whether it would stay together when I was turning it but everything worked out. It's 5" diameter and 1-1/2" high, finished with Antique oil.
Comments and critiques welcome.

I was a little worried as to whether it would stay together ....And, you should have been!!! Very well done, but I am amazed it is in one piece!

On your pics, they are 640x480, compressed at 98%. You might have a better pic if you would make the image larger, and compress it more. Perhaps 1024xwhatever, and compress to 65% or so to get within the 107KB size limitation.

I love this. I think it's perfect. Congrats on having it stay in tact.

Nice simple and classic shape with some great feather. I have turned lots of pieces with cracks and voids and I still see no good reason that this one is not two! Nice job.

Pretty neat Rob. When I clicked on that first picture to see the inside in more detail, Frankenstein immediately came to mind.:) The only thinkg missing are the stitches!

Your concern was well founded!! Glad both of you survived since it's a neat little bowl. However, I do worry about the loss of M&M storage volume.

Pretty cool bowl! Like everyone else - I am amazed that it didn't blow apart while turning!

I think whatever contents are put in this bowl........well, lets just say they had better be solids! ;) Nice!

Thanks for the comments. Here's pictures of the bottom. There's a little more wood holding it together than it looks like from the topside, but I was standing out of the line of fire.
John- I'm still trying to get the hang of photographing my work. Your advice is appreciated.
