Beech Bowl

This is the first Beech I have ever turned. Just a plain bowl 8" diameter and 2" high. I sanded to 400 grit and finished with several coats of Tung Oil. After the oil dried, I buffed it with a 4000 grit Abralon pad and some Menzerna compound. All comments are welcome.

Very nice form!!! I like this one Rob. One thought would be to have a more defined inner edge to the rim - not knife sharp, but more defined. Nonetheless, it is a great looking bowl!

Nice work on all the beech Rob. I have yet to return any of the beech I got last spring. I suppose it wont be any easier after it has dried.:)

I like it and your beech has a lot more character than the stuff I turned. It's also a good wood to use for dye experiments.

Nice bowl - I really like the grain pattern! As monochromatic as the wood is, I would think it would be a great candidate for dye!

Both pieces (the other bowl post) are nice, but are you sure that is beech? That doesn't have the right color or grain for beech.

I think this is a really nice piece if anything was to be change, I'm with JK on defining the inside of the rim.
