I have a Powermatic 209HH thickness planer and I was wondering about the Wixley Digital gage for it. Has anyone installed one on this machine? Results?

I have one on my Delta DC 33 and it works great. Not like a proscale but a good unit for the money. Dave

Powermatic/Jet makes one that bolts right on to your planer. Your manual should have detailed instructions. At least my 15HH did. I know they are avaiable for about $150.

There are a couple of examples of the Wixey mounted onto 209 planers on the Wixey site http://www.wixey.com/planer/fit/index.html. Go down the page. I have one mounted on my 15" planer. It made it a much more accurate machine. Makes you wonder why they don't just come with them (or something like them).

I have a Wixey on my lunchbox and on my tablesaw. I have a Griz 15" planer and bought their longer DRO (http://www.grizzly.com/products/12-Digital-Scale-with-Remote-Readout-Inch-Metric-Fraction/T23012) for it. As David stated, they really ought to just come with one.

I had to add the Wixey on the home planer, i just couldn't function properly without it. I don't think of a board as 3/4" anymore, my brain works in thousands of an inch, so my planer has to as well.

I have one on my planer and my sander, they are easy to install and work great. You won't regret the purchase.

If you're creative in mounting it, This little fella works pretty good. I have the 12" on a Jet Jointer/Planer. They're invaluable there because of having to move the planer bed frequently. Battery life has been an issue in the past with inexpensive DROs but I've had mine about a year I think and it's still on its original batteries. And it holds its calibration.

I got this during a sale for $40. :D I used existing bolts, threaded holes for mounting on my 209 HH.

Don't know if all the bolts are in the same place but I attached a readout to my G0453PX w/o needing to drill anything:
