+1 to Dan's comments. Did you use the Steve Latta/LN inlay tools or some kind of small router bit- dremel tool to cut the recesses?

Those are totally the first things I've seen that make me want to learn how to inlay - any pointers or good resources?
Man, my list of things I wish I could do is SO much longer than my list of things I can do.

I used the Steve Latta/LN inlay tools and video to do the boxes and a router and epoxy to do the plane
