Recently purchased a Euro combo machine and think I should upgrade my dust collection from a single stage Jet to a cyclone. Never owned anything like this, and I'm trying my best not to break the bank over it. This came up on Craigslist near me:
http://springfieldil.craigslist.org/tls/2698035157.html (http://springfieldil.craigslist.org/tls/2698035157.html)

Apparently it's assembled and operational so I can turn it on. What do you think? Priced fairly? What should I look for, what questions should I ask, etc. when I go take a look at it this weekend?

Thanks.

That seems like a good price to me. There's not much to get worn out in a cyclone. Penn State Industries makes the Tempest line. It seems like you'd pay $1300 for a new one, plus shipping and tax. http://www.pennstateind.com/store/cyclone-dust-collectors.html

Iwould grab it if I were you, It would be a definite improvement over your current single stage D.C. and down the road if you ever wish to upgrade again you'll always be able to get your money back.

I would grab it too. Looks to be in good shape. The cheapest cyclone I've seen is the Grizzy 0703P, at half the HP (1.5HP) and $770 delievered.

Looks like a really good deal. Get it before someone else does.

Great price.

Are you getting ductwork also? if you are then it's an even better deal because ductwork typically costs as much to more than the DC itself. i'd ask how old the filters are...they could be $400 to replace,...or they may have a ton of life in them still.
