I, along with just about every bowl turner, have turned through the bottom of a bowl or two. Well folks, I've found a 77 cent way to fix that.:)

Wally, due to a recent thread, I will not say that is funny. I will not say it is pretty. I will not say I like it. None of these are helpful to you in any way to progress and become a better turner. Rather, I will offer you my insight and unprofessional opinion...

The stopper does not seem to press all the way into the hole. Work a little harder next time to get a proper seat.
The stopper also looks a little dingey. A pure white one would have contrasted the tones of the wood better, providing a stark crispness accentuating the different medium.
The stopper does not follow the 1/3 rule, and therefore is dwarfed by the bowl.

Okay, I had fun with that, and sorry to the Member who I just had a blast at his expense (I think it was Dick Wilson, again, sorry Dick).

Wally, that is hysterical. I love it!

Well, Mike beat me to the critique, so all I can think of is well done, sir! I enjoyed the laugh and to me, that is enough 'outside-the-box' to really work as an art object.

Wally, You gave me an idea. I have had a couple of duffus people in my show tent that pick up a bowl with a void and say "what good is it, it has a hole in it?". I am going to have a bowl like yours on display (with price tag). When some idiot picks it up and says something I am going to whip the plug out of my pocket, plug it and hand it to him and say "THERE, SATIFIED, BUY IT!!!"

That's funny! Call it a sink basin, and your bowl-with-a-hole just tripled in value!

Bowl-with-a-hole, huh? Sounds like an SNL short...in song version with Justin Timberlake just waiting to happen... One: You take a bowl; TWO: You put a hole in the bowl; THREE... :D

Wally, this needs to be in your next event. It will be a real 'Show Stopper.'

You nailed the fit and finish on this one and tossed in a little rescue, originality and even perhaps a bit of functionality. I like it.

I think that the raised area around the plug will prevent complete draining.

So much for art. Now it's a "craft" item... it will hold soup.
