Just as the title says. Is it really worth the money & how easy is it to navigate around to find articles ?

It's a great resource. I wish there was some automated way to keep it updated...

Agree - it would be nice if the price of the online membership included some kind of "update pack." If you pay for the year of online content, you should be able to add that to your archive. Seems fair.

I can't tell you. I ordered it a month ago, got a notice that it was backordered until December 1, and have yet to receive it. I'll give it a good going over when it comes and let you know.

That's the last I've heard from them.

I have considered getting this as well. I am not sure what the advantage is because you can do an index search and the find the article and print out the PDF. Can anyone clarify this for me?

+1 on the web membership with PDF downloads.
I like being able to print a worksheet to take into my shop as a guide.

The search function is awesome. I do like it overall, but $99 is a lot of money for a lot of people.

I have the originally issued CD as well as the complete set of FWW magizines (I was an original subscriber)....I find that when I do use the CE, I use it to search topics and then I go to my magazines to read the actual article.

It came today, poked around it for an hour or so. It is absolutely worth it. I started reading FW inthe 80's so missed all the B&W issues. Lots of good reading in there.

Got it last year for Christmas. Love it. Great search engine built in. Easy to find just what you are looking for. It also has a nice PDF export, so you can save just the article or entire issue that you want. A really well designed product.

Jay.... Just want to point it out in case you aren't aware: If you have the magazines themselves, Tauton has a free online index you can use to find articles in your stack. I find that most useful. Personally not a big fan of reading any magazine completely on-screen, so the archive DVD isn't for me.

I received it as a gift and absolutely loved it. It took me almost a year to read them all, reading a little here and there. I actually put them all on my iphone, so I had over 200 magazines in my pocket and I was basically taking it out whenever I found myself in a waiting room. Never actually bothered much with the dvd itself once I had put them on my phone so I can't comment on the search or navigation. I read them all in sequence from 1 to 209 or so. I guess due to copyright assignment issues, every so often as you navigate through, you'll find that they blanked out an article or all the pictures in an article here and there.

These days I've discontinued my subscription to the print version and kept only my online subscription, because I got used to reading their stuff on my phone and their website works pretty nicely with that. And I like watching their videos, which are generally pretty well produced.

I found it really interesting to see how their style and focus has evolved over 30+ years. I'm a relatively young guy so I ALSO found it incredibly interesting how few ideas are really new. I actually caught myself spending a considerable amount of time looking at all the ads for machines and tools.

I paid $150 for mine I think and think it is worth every penny!
