I think I'm going to get the SmartGuide. I've seen some posts that say you don't need to use a good ply blade with it, but I've already got one and am very happy with it. The carbide might be a bit thicker than typical blades. Is there any reason NOT to use the blade with the SmartGuide - problems with the chip guard, the plastic edge thing on the guide itself etc? Thanx.
