Feed rate on Powermatic 209

Hi,

Do and Creekers have feedback or experience regarding the 12 tooth sprocket and chain that's used to convert the Powermatic 209 to low speed feed?

I work almost exclusively with sapele and hard maple and was wondering if the lower speed conversion is worth doing. This is a standard knife machine; have not installed a shelix head yet.

IMO yes I swapped mine out the same day I got it and it will most likely stay that way. I dont care about speed and don't do any skip planing.

Thanks Don, appreciate it. That is actually very helpful; same here, no skip planing - I use mine for near-final dimensioning.
