Guess what showed up today??
Not bad eh? Two months... Now if this guy emails me, I can try to re-pay him since Pay Pal credited me.

The lack of communication alone would make me question doing business with anyone... the long lead times with no mention of such would have me canceling PayPal feeds, too.

I got the tools!!!
BUT NO INSTRUCTIONS WHATSOEVER..
I am sure contacting Soren will be fruitless. Does anybody have instructions for these three tools: Dia/Rad Caliper, Sphere Caliper and Golden Ratio Caliper?
THANKS!!!

I'm not defending Soren, he should have made an attempt at contacting you and then no instructions is poor business as well, but when I've sent items to Canada and over seas since 911 it has taken at least 5 to 6 weeks for my items to arrive after being shipped. Customs has made it difficult to ship anything out of and I would imagine into our country quickly since then.

Soren has demo'ed his sphere caliper at the local club. I found the method he used very interesting. The calipers are used to divide the "block" first into an 8-sided, then a 16 sided. That is the large size is the over-all diameter, the middle is the cords for the 2nd step and the small is the cords for the 3rd step.
I wrote up a bit on the math behind his method in the club newsletter

Hope this is some help

PS, there are LOTS and LOTS of tools that are shipped without instructions; chatter tools, thread chasers, captive ring tools, spiraling tools, Chinese ball tools. Just to name a few

Ralph,
Thanks for your input. I will check out your newsletter.
The tools may not come with instructions, but it would be nice if they were accessable on the website. OR have Soren Berger email me back. NONE OF THESE!!!

I'm not going to say that you shouldn't have got a set of instructions with the calipers as I didn't buy a set so I don't know, but here is a video which shows you how to use them for making a sphere very clear. If they are intended to do anything else the video won't be any help at all. Good luck with them and let us all know if they really work as well as they do on the video.
