My Home Depot version of an Irish Grind jig made from a cast iron plumbing tee.

I could not see spending $40 to $80 for a jig, so I made my own for a couple of bucks. The plug in the bottom is not necessary, it just adds steel to be threaded for the threaded rod leg.

Grind a point, or round the end of the holding bolt and you can do any bowl gouge that will fit in the Tee. It works great for my gouges up to 5/8.:D

Very cool Chris. What is the angle of the fixed leg?

Sweet idea...much cheaper than my Wolverine jig I'm sure and probably just as effective!

"That Capt. Eddie (http://www.youtube.com/user/capneddie) Guy" on youtube has a clip about this; he gives info on the angle, length and distance the end of the stem needs to be from the grinding wheel.
Sorry, cant rember the direct link, but im sure its listed on his user page.
