Compatible tool steels

I've been searching around for european equivalents for the here often referred to A-2 and O-1 qualities - to no avail...
I've been searching through Internet, steel catalogues, asking some "mechanical" friends - still without results..
Does anybody here know of european steel designations compatible to those steel qualities :confused:

I know that in England 01 is often called "silver steel", outside of that I'm afraid I can't be of much help to you. Good luck in your search!
