Hi all, my new computer does not have a Firewire port to connect my Mini DV Camcorder to it. I have USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports, eSata port, optical ports in and out. Is there even such a thing as a USB 3.0 to firewire cable? Any ideas? Thanks, Sean

Look for an expansion port at a computer store to plug into the motherboard.

I was thinking I could add a Firewire card into a PCI-e slot?

It's been a couple of years but got a cable at Target that had adapters for each end of the cable to configure it any way you want. I tried hooking my DV camera to the computer USB input. Computer could not find my camera. Did not play with it much because I found my computer did have a fire wire jack.

Yeah but a regular size tower wouldn't be low profile would it? I did notice the card has an extra mount for normal profile. What are some o the better brands out there?
