At last.... after about 25-30 hours over a 3 week period, I can finally release pictures of the finished product.

You fellas go easy on me now as I am a newbie and this was my first real project.

I know it is not as pretty as some of yours and is more of a hybrid rather than the typical woodworking bench, but it fits my needs for the way I plan to work and shop space.

I am proud of it. It weighs well over 500lbs and the top is 80X32X6 and measures 34" tall.

I know I have worried some of you to death with my questions as I ran into decisions that were difficult to make and I want to thank you for your patience and kindness at this forum.

Best regards to all.

Bob that's a real nice job of building something that is going to give you years of service. Open up the cabinet drawers and show the inside please.

Bob,
There is nothing wrong with that bench! The key is in the quote...it will fit your needs...and nothing wrong with something looking good at the same time. :D

Thanks for all the nice comments. It makes all the hard work worth it when you can share with others of the same interest and have more expertise tell you that it came out good.

Now I can get get my shop in order and start making something.

Looks great Bob, almost too nice to work on. I especially like the massive legs, I hope you don't ever have to move because that is staying with the house!

Really nice!! - and it beats the heck out of my 2x6 bench. :o I particularly like the tool slot along the back edge. Great idea! :)

That's a nice bench, Bob. It's great that it will not be able to "walk away" by itself...mass is a good thing in a work bench, especially if you use hand tools.
