mortising machine set up

This is my first post in awhile enjoy reading your guys post my question is my bit seems to come in contact with chisels is this normal . Shop fox machine and chisels

The bit should be set about 1/16" below the chisel.

I have a story on setting up mortising machines at the link below. It has photos and stuff to help make the gap thing clearer. Once you do this a couple times it happens very quickly. I get lots of email about setting these machines up so have faith, you are not alone!
