I have a 2"x3/4" piece of red oak attached to a 2"x2" red oak. The 3/4" piece was cut a little long (better then a little SHORT!). Any ideas suggestions on cleaning up the end of the "long" flush with the 2x2? I'm thinking it's a good excuse to buy a block plane.

Sounds like a great reason to get a block plane.....

You should consider a low angle block plane for cutting end grains.

The Veritas Low angle block plane gets good reviews. I have the LN and like it alot.

Good Luck!
