Bought this set at an estate sale($5 never been used). Thought I would try some Christmas ornaments this weekend. My question is how should these be used?

A. Above center or below center?
B. 45 degree angle or flat?

As always thanks for the help and advice.

I use my mini hollowers on center and flat.Mine are home made but should work the same.

You got a real bargain for $5! Post a pic so we can see what this set looks like!

Wow you got a great deal on those! Like above, the cutting surface should be at center and tool flat or every so slightly at a downward angle (handle up).

No doubt you got a bargain. On the curved shank tools, you'll need to keep only the straight part on the tool rest.

Great bargain, and I like the idea of the wall thickness gauge - would be easy to install on other mini-hollowing sets.
