Well got a little turning time between honey-do's. Turned this walnut HF. It is 10 1/2" X 4". Finished with GF Woodturners finish. Hasn't been buffed yet. My wife had some friends over yesterday and one of her friends bought it. I told her she could pick it up next week after it has dried a few days and buffed.

That is some great figure in the walnut, and the form shows it off well! I would have preferred a more subtle neck, but obviously your customer had no such qualms. Congrats on the quick sale.

Bernie - you have become a regular turning machine since 'retiring'!! Very nice work on this form! Love the wood and your finish really brought all that curl out nicely! Congrats on your sale! Looking forward to seeing what's next!

Thanks to all. I really like the woodturners finish as it does let the wood talk. I think it and lacquer let the wood shine the best. I just wish that wood had more of the feathering. I have to get up early and get turning as one of the other ladies that was over called the wife and wants one.

Bernie, you seem to be liking that GW finish, and it sure looks nice on that walnut - man, what figure!!! Nice work, and congrats on the sale!

Thanks John. It is a clear finish that shows the grain nicely and is easily applied.

That's awfully pretty Bernie! That shape had to be a tough one to hollow. Really some nice looking walnut.

Great figure in the wood Bernie and congrats on the quick sale! The shape reminds me of those clamshell type turnings you were doing a while back. Was this one too?

Thanks again. This one is hollowed one piece. It is a lot more work than the two piece but still turned out nice. In the middle of making the second one for the other lady that wants one. Ken I wish I could find more of this feathered wood. Some nice stuff.

Very nice Bernie. I also LOVE walnut, expecially figured... and CLARO! I will have to order me some of that finish. You have a great looking finish even without buffing. I bet after this is buffed it will look incredible!

Great piece, both form and figure. What type of tool(s) do you use for that type of hollowing?

Wow! Great looking HF Bernie. I too want to try some of that finish. Did you spray or wipe it on?
I tried to find it locally here and their web site says it is available at Lee Valley so I could have it delivered BUT can't find it on their Web site.
Has anyone purchased it from Lee Valley?
