Did not want thin I reckon, turned it and finished it and that be that. Probably an AO finish....completed it a while back and forgot to post it. Im kind of getting away from teh thin and ultra polished look, it just isnt me haha! Rough geuss, 7 x 4

Ken, that is beautiful. Love the light sap wood dark vein moving through it.

Great looking wood Ken. I have several NE hickory roughouts from your place last year. They look pretty bland without any finish. Your post makes me want to get going on them!

Ain't nothing wrong with roughing it! Great looking bowl. Love hickory...and it's near-twin, pecan! Beautiful contrasting grain.

wow! this is super. I think NE should be finished rustically...it seems to fit them better..so I agree they shouldn't look so "polished"

I am definitely liking the Hickory!! Nice bowl - thick or thin! You have to turn them the way you see them!!

Ken, I like the form - it reminds me of the hull of Noah's ark. The wood is really interesting.

That's a great looking bowl Ken. Speaking of photography....your turnings always have interesting and natural looking backgrounds. What kind of setup and backgrounds do you use?

Employed here is 1 stool, 1 chair, 1 camo shirt that happened to be draped over the back of said chair, and 1 narly chunk of wood

Very nice, love the color contrast, and thick looks good on NE pieces, gives you that much more bark to look at.
